Victim Shot Outside of Wendy's Restaurant

By Bay City News Service

Police are investigating a shooting outside of a Wendy's restaurant in Concord Friday evening, a fire captain said.

The shooting was reported at about 6 p.m. and arriving paramedics found police with a shooting victim on the ground outside of the restaurant at 1551 Monument Blvd., Contra Costa County fire Capt. Robert Marshall said.

The victim was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek with serious injuries, Marshall said. Marshall could not confirm reports of a second shooting earlier in the day, but said that police responded to reports of a male bleeding from the head outside of the Bonfare Market at 2800 Grant St. at 3:25 p.m.

However, assistance from the fire department was called off before any arrived, Marshall said.
