Motorcycle Rider in Critical Condition After Crash

A 48-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash in Antioch on Saturday, according to police. Officers responded to a report of a motorcycle collision in the 1900 block of Calaveras Circle at around 5 p.m., according to Antioch police. Arriving officers found a male rider in the street suffering major injuries, police said.

No other vehicles appeared to have been involved and police said the rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The injured rider was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said. The cause of the crash remains under investigation and police have not yet reported whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
