obiwan is the nom de plume for Tom O'Brien - long time Walnut Creek resident and Almond/Shuey neighborhood activist (the cutest neighborhood in Walnut Creek, if we can only keep it that way).  I'm a Citizen's Institute graduate, a  Community Conversations participant, and now a part-time Patch blogger.  I'm happy that we have a hardware store downtown again, but still mourning the loss of Luckys, Bonanza Books,  Navlets, and the doughnut shop.
