Charleen Earley is a mom, freelance writer, journalism teacher at Deer Valley High School, wedding and events manager at Trilogy in Brentwood, and a stand-up comic. She co-produced annual comedy shows for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition for the last 10 years in Danville and Walnut Creek, eight of them with her best friend, late Stacey Hartmann. When she’s not writing, she’s riding a tandem with her fiancé Mike Smith or spending time with her two Arabian horses. Charleen has an AA degree in Liberal Arts and Journalism, and a BA in English from California State University East Bay. She’s written for every Bay Area newspaper and Magazine to include the San Francisco Chronicle’s Friday section and Diablo Magazine. She was publisher and editor of her own comedy publication called Funny Business Magazine and wrote a weekly humor column called Funny Side Up for the Brentwood Press. She currently writes for the Stockton Record and 57-Degrees Magazine. Her love for all-things-print-media is only surpassed by her love of teaching juniors and seniors about it and telling jokes on stage.
