While considering Queen Isabella's contribution, we might benefit from some more context. It looksRead More like you might have gotten the photo from Wikipedia? If so, you might have already read the following... "Isabella and Ferdinand are known for completing the Reconquista, ordering conversion or exile of their Muslim and Jewish subjects.... Along with the physical unification of Spain, Isabella and Ferdinand embarked on a process of spiritual unification, trying to bring the country under one faith (Roman Catholicism). As part of this process, the Inquisition became institutionalized. " http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isabella_I_of_Castile As I understand it, this institutional systemic oppression was long lasting and caused much harm and suffering, even into the 20th century, until the death of Franco on the 1970's. Nothing justifies this kind of oppression of others. Ever. Not in the name of efficiency nor in the name of entrepreneurship. Don't mean to rain on anyone's three day weekend, but fleshing out some more of the history seems important, especially as it seems in our modern world, we still struggle with inclusion, responsibility, and the fair exercise of power, including around distribution of resources.
