African Arts and Crafts Bazaar

Fair Trade baskets, jewelry, batiks, clothing, carvings and other items from Women's Cooperatives in Tanzania and Uganda will be for sale at the aRt Cottage, 2238 Mt. Diablo St., in Concord on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 2 and 3, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Purchases help the women to support their families, send their children to school and to care for AIDS orphans. 3rd Annual "Taking the World By Storm" Soccer and Leadership Clinic

This free event hosted by Assemblywoman Susan Bonilla includes a healthy living fair and sports medicine workshops led by local doctors for coaches, family 
members and other attendees, as well as a clinic is designed for girls ages 9 to 18 to learn leadership and team skills. It all takes place Saturday, Aug. 3, at Tesoro Soccer Fields at 1743 Arnold Industrial Way in Concord. 

FREE E-Waste Recycling to Benefit Contra Costa ARC

Do you have old electronics cluttering up your attic or garage? Contra Costa ARC and All Green Electronics Recycling have teamed up to host an event to help you get rid of them responsibly–absolutely free of charge! Recycle Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 4615 Clayton Road. Find more information here.

Sunvalley Mall and Concord High Farmers' Markets

The new farmers' market at Sunvalley Mall runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays and the market at Concord High School is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays.

New Movies at the Drive-In

Movies showing at the West Wind Solano drive-in this weekend include this week's new release, "The Smurfs 2," as well as "The Wolverine," "Despicable Me 2," and "Pacific Rim." See the schedule here
