Week Ahead in Concord: No Government and Petty Theft in the Plaza

It's not as bad as it seems — there's live music and new businesses opening this week in Concord, from Aug. 12 to Aug. 18, 2013.

Council Meetings Cancelled

The Concord City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 13 has been cancelled, as has the meeting scheduled for Aug. 27. The next city council meeting will be Sept. 2. See the meeting calendar here.

Chamber Business Mixer

The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce hosts a business after-hours mixer on Thursday, Aug. 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Ouimet Bros Concord Funeral Chapel, 4125 Clayton Rd.

Petty Theft in Todos Santos Plaza

The Tom Petty tribute band performs a free concert in Todos Santos Plaza Thursday, Aug. 15 from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. as part of the 2013 Music and Market Series

Business Grand Openings

There's a new hair salon in town — Mimi's at 4367 Concord Blvd. has a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 12 p.m. Concordians also have a new place to go for a sushi fix. Minamoto Japanese restaurant at 4305 Clayton Rd. celebrates its grand opening Saturday, Aug. 17 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
