Holiday Toy Drive for Bay Area Crisis Nursery Begins

You may donate new, unwrapped toys, games and books at several local sites

The Clayton Valley High School men's lacrosse team is collecting new, unwrapped toys and other children's items for its annual toy drive. Look for collection barrels at , , My School Pre-School in Walnut Creek and other locations.

The drive benefits the Bay Area Crisis Nursery in Concord, which provides support for families in stress or crisis, including emergency 24-hour care in a homelike environment for infants and children.

In addition to the collection bins, team members will hold a Toy Drive Day in downtown Clayton on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Players will also assist with dropping bags with fliers stapled to them in several Clayton neighborhoods advertising the toy drive and giving pickup dates from residents' front porches.

Team volunteers will be wrapping presents at BACN on Saturday, Dec. 17, from noon to 2 p.m.

Varsity player Jack Zuercher is the main organizer for the local drive.

Bill’s Ace Hardware donated barrels for toy collection.
