U.S. Rowing Team Qualifies For Finals

Kara Kohler and her teammates will battle for Olympic medals on Wednesday

A Clayton Valley High graduate and her rowing teammates will be in the race for the gold on Wednesday.

Kara Kohler and her three teammates finished second today in the semifinals of the 2012 Olympics' quadruple sculls.

Their time of 6:19.49 was behind only Australia.

That finish put them in the "Final A" group on Wednesday against Great Britain, Australia, Ukraine, Germany and China.

The top three teams take home the gold, silver and bronze medals.

Kohler, 21, was a swimmer in high school. She took up rowing while at U.C. Berkeley in 2009.
