Special Olympics Torch Runs Through Town

The Special Olympics torch moved through Concord this morning on its way up to UC Davis.

Law enforcement personnel throughout Contra Costa County today handed off the Special Olympics torch from one police department to the next.

Concord Police escorted the torch and runners from Todos Santos Plaza Wednesday morning, down Galindo Street and up Monument Boulevard until meeting with Pleasant Hill Police at Kohl's near the Concord, Pleasant Hill border around 10:20 a.m. Tuesday. 

The torch is making its way to the 2012 Special Olympics Northern California Summer Games, which will take place at U.C. Davis the weekend of June 22nd.
