Olympics 2012: TV Schedule for Wednesday and Thursday

Swimmers Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte and Missy Franklin take center stage in London as they compete in several races Wednesday. Here's the NBC TV schedule for Aug. 1 and 2.

Team USA is , and there are plenty more to come, no doubt. Here's what's heating up in the next couple of days for the 2012 Olympics in London.

Wednesday, Aug. 1

10:00a - 11:05a

Cycling
The time trial for men's Cycling to be joined live in progress. Fabian Cancellara reportedly will compete after being injured during Saturday's road race. Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins of Great Britain is also expected to ride.

11:05a - 11:30a

Swimming
American swimmers Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte and Missy Franklin are expected in the pool as qualification continues with 14 races over five events. The men will swim the 200m backstroke and 200m individual medley, while the women compete in 4x200m freestyle, 200m breaststroke and 100m freestyle.

11:30a - 12:30p

Men's Beach Volleyball
More qualifying-round action in men's Beach Volleyball featuring Team USA's Jake Gibb and Sean Rosenthal againt Lativia's Aleksandrs Samoilovs and Ruslans Sorokins.

12:30p - 1:20p

Swimming
More qualifying heats in swimming featuring five events and 14 races.

1:20p - 2:30p

Women's Water Polo: USA vs. ESP
The United States, the 2008 silver medalist, faces Spain in the second round of Group A preliminary matches. The U.S. narrowly defeated Hungary, 14-13, its first game, while Spain defeated China, 11-6.

2:30p - 3:00p

Canoeing
Another medal in Canoe/Kayak will be awarded following the men’s K-1 whitewater final. In this event, Germans have won gold in three of the last four Olympics while the British have taken silver in two of the last three

3:00p - 4:45p

Women's Volleyball: USA vs. CHN
The top-ranked United States takes on China in the third round of Group B preliminary matches. Both squads are 2-0, the U.S. coming off a strong 3-1 win against rival Brazil – the country the U.S. lost to for the 2008 gold medal.

4:45p - 5:00p

Rowing
The first medals will be won at Eton Dorney in the women’s pair and quadruple sculls and the men’s eight. Plus, semifinal action in three other events, including the men’s quadruple sculls.

8:00p - 12:00a

NBC Primetime
Swimming and Diving finals, plus the crowning of the men's all-around champion in Gymnastics and a Beach Volleyball match involving Team USA. 

Thursday, Aug. 2

12:35a - 1:35a NBC Late Night
Swimming takes center stage with semifinals in the women's 200m breaststroke, plus the women's time trial in Cycling. 1:35a - 4:30a NBC Primetime Repeat
Swimming and Diving finals, plus the crowning of the men's all-around champion in Gymnastics. 9:00a - 9:15a Swimming
Swimming qualification races continue with Americans Michael Phelps and Missy Franklin scheduled to compete. Phelps will swim the 100m butterfly – and event he won by .01 seconds in Beijing four years ago. Franklin is slated to compete in the 200m backstroke. Other races include the men’s 50m freestyle and women’s 800m freestyle. 9:15a - 9:40a Canoe/Kayak
The last gold medal in Canoe/Kayak’s slalom will be presented to the winner of the men’s C-2 whitewater final. Slovakian twin brothers Pavol and Peter Hochschorner may win their fourth straight Olympic gold. 9:40a - 10:30a Swimming
More qualifying heats in Swimming (four events, 12 races.) 10:30a - 11:30a Women's Beach Volleyball
More qualifying-round action in women's Beach Volleyball featuring Team USA's Jennifer Kessy and April Ross against Spain's Lilliana and Elsa Baquierzo. 11:30a - 11:45a Swimming
More qualifying heats in Swimming (four events, 12 races.) 11:45a - 12:20p Cycling
Nations from western Europe have dominated this event since 2000 with France, Germany and Great Britain all winning gold. Chris Hoy, a two-time medalist in this event, returns to anchor the host country’s team. 12:20p - 1:20p Men's Water Polo: USA vs. GBR
The men's Water Polo team from the United States plays versus Great Britain in a qualifying-round matchup. 1:20p - 2:00p Rowing
More medals will be won at Eton Dorney following the finals of the women’s eight and men’s lightweight four. Plus, semifinals in four events – the women’s single and lightweight double sculls, and the men’s four and lightweight four. 2:00p - 4:00p Men's Volleyball: USA vs. BRA
The U.S. men's Volleyball team meets Brazil in qualifying-round play. 8:00p - 12:00a (8/3) NBC Primetime
Gymnastics crowns its women's all-around champ, plus Swimming finals (Phelps vs. Lochte in 200m IM), the U.S. Beach Volleyball team of Rogers and Dalhausser, and more.
