Father's Day in Concord: Chili, Beer, Music and Cars

Todos Santos Plaza to turn into Father's Day central, Sunday, June 17.

Chili, beer, live music, a car show and more - yeah, we know, sounds like a fun Father's Day in downtown Concord! 

The third annual DadDay in the Park will take place June 17, starting at 11 a.m. at Todos Santos Plaza this Father's Day weekend. 

Chili Cook-Off

Seven law enforcement and emergency personnel teams from Contra Costa County will face off at the plaza for the titles of "Best Chili," "Best No-Beef Chili" and "Best Decorated Booth."

Beer

Sample local brews at the Brewing Networ's Summer Fest between 12 and 4 p.m. Proceeds will go to the Kiwanis Club, ConFire (Contra Costa County Fire Department) charities and the downtown music series, according to the city. 

Sweet rides

Members of the Diablo Valley Corvettes will bring out their fancy rides and show off around the plaza. Concord Police usually brings out a police cruiser, too, in case you want to peak inside.

Antique Fair

The plaza's most recent addition, the , will open before the event at 9 a.m., so get some shopping done while you're at it. 

Best Dad Essay

The winner of the annual Best Dad Essay Contest will be announced during the free event.
