Olympic Update: U.S. Women's Rowing Team Finishes Second In Heat

Kara Kohler and her teammates will compete in Monday's semifinals in 2012 Summer Games

A Clayton Valley High graduate's Olympic dream continues.

Kara Kohler and her teammates finished second in their heat today in the women's quadruple sculls in London.

The squad finished their race in 6:15.76, behind only Germany. The Germans and the Ukraine team, which won its heat, advanced to the medal rounds on Wednesday. The U.S. team and other top finishers will compete in Monday's semifinals. Results can be found on the Olympics website.

Kohler, 21, was a swimmer in high school. She took up rowing while at U.C. Berkeley in 2009.
