Nor Cal Basketball Tournament Advances To Second Round

It's crunch time this weekend for the best high school basketball teams in Northern California.

The second round of the CIF Northern California basketball tournament will be played Saturday evening.

Patch would like to show how the high school campuses are supporting these championship basketball teams. So, send us photos of any pep rallies or other ways students are cheering on these squads.

Here are the local teams that are in action.

Boys Division I

Top seeded (27-2) will play at home against eighth seeded Pleasant Grove High (24-6) of Elk Grove. The game begins at 7:30 p.m.

The Spartans won the NCS tournament and had a first round bye. Pleasant Grove defeated Castlemont High, 64-57, on Wednesday night.

(22-7), the 12th seed, will play at fourth seeded Jesuit High (25-6) of Carmichael. That game begins at 7 p.m.

The Trojans defeated Bellarmine High, 54-48, on Wednesday. Jesuit had a first-round bye.

Boys Division II

Second seeded  (26-4) will play at home against seventh seeded Bella Vista High (26-5) of Fair Oaks. That game begins at 7 p.m.

The Cougars had a first round bye. Bella Vista defeated Shasta High, 65-51, on Wednesday.

(20-10), the 11th seed, will play at third seeded Serra High (23-6). The game begins at 7 p.m.

The Knights defeated Lodi High, 76-64, on Wednesday. Serra had a first round bye.

Girls Division II

Second seeded (26-3) will play at home against seventh seeded McNair High (27-4) of Stockton. The game begins at 7 p.m.

The Cougars had a bye in the first round. McNair defeated Alameda High, 65-49, on Wednesday.

, the eighth seed, will play at top seeded St. Mary's High (28-3) of Stockton.

The Wildcats defeated Chico High, 72-40, on Wednesday. St. Mary's had a first-round bye.
