Concord, Clayton Valley, De La Salle All Playing For NCS Baseball, Softball Titles

Three Concord high schools are playing this weekend for North Coast Section baseball and softball championships.

Concord High's softball squad will faced off Friday against Clayton Valley Charter High for the Division II title.

The game started at 5 p.m. at St. Mary's College in Moraga.

The two teams split a two-game series in mid-May.

Concord High, the tournament's number four seed, is 21-4 this season. They reached the NCS final by defeating top-seeded Petaluma High on Tuesday.

Clayton Valley Charter, the number three seed, is 22-3 this season. They reached the final by defeating second-seeded Alhambra High on Wednesday.

De La Salle High's baseball team will play for the NCS Division I title on Saturday against Amador Valley High.

The game begins at 4 p.m. at St. Mary's College in Moraga.

De La Salle, the number two seed in the tournament, is 19-7 on the season. They reached the final by defeating sixth-seeded James Logan High on Wednesday.

Amador Valley, the number four seed, is 17-10 this season. They reached the final by knocking off top-seeded Granada High on Wednesday.

De La Salle won the NCS title last season. Amador Valley won both games the two teams played in the regular season.
