Carondelet Swim Team Wins NCS Title

The Carondelet High swim team cruised to the NCS title this weekend, setting a national record along the way.

The Cougars tallied 267 points, comfortably ahead of second-place San Ramon Valley High's 218 points.

The Carondelet 400-yard freestyle relay team also broke the national record at the NCS meet Saturday at Concord Community Pool.

The squad of Chelsea Chenault, Natalie Amberg, Madelyn Murphy and Madison White recorded a time of 3:20:42, more than a second better than the previous set earlier this year by a Pennsylvania high school.

Chenault also won the 200 and 500 freestyle events for the third consecutive year.
