Should Oak Grove Teacher Be Disciplined For Swatting Student with Paper?

Watch the video that led administrators to place a middle school teacher on leave.

An unnamed teacher at Oak Grove Middle School is on administrative leave after a surreptitiously recorded cell phone video showed her swatting a student with what appears to be rolled up papers.

Steven Lawrence, Mount Diablo Unified School District's superintendent, told Claycord that the school district is investigating the incident.

The Contra Costa Times reported that the school's principal declined to say how long the teacher had been at Oak Grove. Having cell phones in class is against school rules, and the student who took the video may also face discipline, according to the principal.
