Two From MDUSD Nominated for Teacher of the Year

Foothill's Sue Noce and College Park's Nichole Hackett will compete countywide.

The annual countywide Teacher of the Year Awards are coming up, and two Mount Diablo Unified School District teachers are finalists.

Sue Noce, a foreign-language teacher at Foothill Middle School, and Nichole Hackett, a special education teacher at College Park High School, will compete countywide with teachers from 17 districts. Nominees will be judged as they work in their classrooms, give speeches to new teachers and through their  written submissions. Nominees will be honored at a luncheon in September.

The county winner will go on to the statewide contest. Since 1972, four Contra Costa County teachers have been named state Teacher of the Year.
