Mt Diablo Unified Hires New Vice Principals

The School Board reorganized the district's employees.

Mt. Diablo Unified School District's Board of Education rung in the new school year Wednesday by hiring three vice principals and one new superintendent.

Two of the incumbent vice principals took other jobs within the district, while one decided to take a job elsewhere. 

The Board appointed Dr. Nellie Meyer to the role of superintendent with a unanimous vote of 5-0. Meyer will receive an annual salary of $243,000 plus benefits and a one-time relocation reimbursement.

Michael Burstein will be the new Vice Principal of College Park High School.

Northgate High Schooll’s new Vice Principal is Nicole Reyherme. Efa Huckaby is Ygnacio Valley High School’s new Vice Principal.

Board Member Linda Mayo moved to approve the employment contracts and was seconded by Lynne Dennler. The final vote was 4-0, with Board Member Brian Lawrence abstaining.
