Mt. Diablo School District to Hire Contractors For New Science Classrooms


Mt. Diablo Unified School District Board of Education will consider hiring contractors on Wednesday to oversee the installation of new classrooms in the district.  

A contract between Alisa R. Jensen of Construction Inspections, and the school district is being presented to school board members for approval.  The contract is worth up to $173,000, according to public records.   

If the school board approves the contract with the new ‘Project Inspector’, Jensen’s duties will revolve around making sure the upcoming classroom construction projects comply with California building safety standards and other relevant laws.   The project will replace portables and create general science classrooms. 

The lead Project Inspector will bill at the rate of $85, while the Project Inspector will bill at $75.00.  Funding will come from the 2010 Measure C parcel tax.

The district has worked with Jensen on other projects that require DSA Certified Project Inspectors.

In other schools news, Sequoia Middle School may have a new Vice Principal soon. The MUSD superintendent will present school board members with a recommendation about who to hire on Wednesday.  School staff doesn’t know who is being considered.  Administrators declined to release the person’s name. Stay tuned.
