Mt. Diablo Greenlights Ygnacio Stadium Project

The Mt. Diablo USD School Board approved a controversial project on Wednesday that will bring stadium lights and a public address system to Ygnacio Valley High School.

The decision was postponed after people who live near the stadium complained the system would be too loud.

The board said the new plan is to reduce the amount of sound that will reach the neighbors by placing plants in between the field and the homes. District officials also agreed to end sports practice sessions by 8:30 p.m. and start miscellaneous assemblies at 9 a.m. rather than 8 a.m.
