King's Valley Primps for Hairspray This Weekend

The production of Broadway's "Hairspray" will be performed by 5th to 8th graders at King's Valley Christian School Nov. 9 and 10. Buy tickets for $3 each before 4 p.m. Friday from the school office.

The children at King's Valley Christian School are preening for this weekend's performance of the musical "Hairspray," which opened with a matinée performance Thursday ahead of the main shows Friday and Saturday evening.

The cast consists of a group of talented 5th through 8th graders, directed by drama teacher Margie Morris and assisted by Amanda Pouch.

"I am just so impressed with our drama teacher," said Elizabeth Cofer, the parent of a 5th grader at King's Valley. "...What she has done to evolve [the performing arts] program — It's one of the things that makes King's Valley really special. This production rivals community theater as far as I'm concerned."
