Golf Tournament Aims To Fund De La Salle Scholarship

The event takes place July 15 and honors the memory of former De La Salle baseball and football player Frank Wolf.

Places are still available for the 6th annual Frank Wolf Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, July 15 at Oakhurst Country Club in Clayton.

The tournament is a fundraiser for a scholarship to De La Salle High School through the Frank Wolf Memorial Scholarship Fund. Wolf was a former De La Salle High School baseball and football player who died from a sudden heart tear in 2007 at the age of 35.

Full tuition at De La Salle is awarded through the scholarship to a single student, usually a boy from Concord who comes from an underserved family and has to qualify on a number of different levels from low income to grades, according to Tim Roberts, director of alumni relations at De La Salle.

A single player package for the tournament costs $195 and includes a registration gift, green fees, a cart, range balls, lunch and beverages on the course, and appetizers and dinner. Sponsorship opportunities are available for between $175 and $3,000.

The event starts with a 9:30 a.m. graveside memorial in honor of Wolf at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery on Reliez Valley Road in Lafayette.
