De La Salle Hosts 'Suicide Prevention' Run In Honor Of Former Classmate

"Run For (Your) Life!" will be held at the Concord school's football/track stadium.

De La Salle's Jefferson Awards Club will be hosting a run for suicide prevention in commemoration of its former student, Tyler Bunn, on Saturday, May 10.

Tyler unexpectedly took his own life in the 2010/2011 school year.

To help prevent suicide, the students are working with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, which works to raise awareness and prevention of suicide and its causes.

Food and drink will be available, and those participating who achieve the greatest number of laps and raise the most donations for this cause will be recognized and rewarded for their accomplishments.

Students, adults, and other community members are all welcome to run for suicide prevention. Sponsorship opportunities are available for individuals interested in fundraising.

In addition, all participants are asked for a $5 donation to participate in the event and will then receive a commemorative bracelet
