The last day to register for an election is 15 days before election day. For the November election, voters must register by October 22, 2012.

In order to qualify as a voter, you must:

- Be a United States Citizen.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Not be in prison or on parole for a felony.
- Not be deemed mentally incompetent by the law.
How to register to vote:
To vote, fill out a voter registration form. Download a registration form on the Contra Costa County Elections Division website.
