Welcome, Jeff Lewis! Concord Hires New IT Director

News from the City of Concord:

City Manager Valerie Barone has announced that Jeff Lewis has been appointed as the City of Concord’s new Director of Information Technology (IT). He replaces Tom Kuhlman, who is retiring. His first day is July 21.

Lewis was selected from a field of 240 candidates, and has over 27 years of management experience in the information technology field, serving several cities in California, a community hospital, and private industry.

He is currently the Director of IT for the City of Merced. Working directly for Merced’s City Manager, he is responsible for managing the City’s information technology systems with a departmental staff of 11 employees.

“Jeff has a proven track record of building effective IT organizations and managing large complex projects,” said Barone. “He has consistently been recognized by his peers for implementing IT best practices, and will be a great fit for our organization.”

Lewis previously worked as the Information Services Manager for the City of Modesto and also held positions in the information technology field for Sutter Tracy Community Hospital, E&J Gallo Winery, and the City of Turlock. Lewis holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, with a Minor in Business Administration.
