Part 2: Robinson Talks About His Proposed Downtown Complex (Video)

In the second part of our four-part series with Pastor Shawn Robinson, he talks about the four buildings he hopes will be built downtown.

Pastor Shawn Robinson goes over his proposed project for downtown Clayton.

If the project is approved by the City Council as is, the Clayton Community Church would build four buildings totaling about 42,000 square feet.

The centerpiece is the church itself, which would be two stories tall and total about 22,000 square feet. The church will have seating for up to 500 people.

The second and third buildings will be directly adjacent to Main Street. Both building will be two stories tall. The second building will have about 2,250 square feet of retail space and the third will have about 5,700 square feet of retail space.

On the second floor of both buildings will house the offices for the Clayton Community Church. The second building will have about 6,250 square feet of office space (which will include classrooms and a welcome center) and the third building will have about 4,500 square feet of office space.

The fourth building is the smallest, totaling 1,200 square feet and will be next to the Kinder Care downtown. The building will function as a teen center.

In the interview, Robinson he expects the project to cost $6 to $10 million. He confident the church can raise the money for the complex and said he expects to receive some large donations from individuals for the project.

You can watch the first portion of our , where the pastor talked about his and his church's backgroud.

Tomorrow, we'll post the video about some of the concerns raised about the project.
