Clayton Community Church pastor Shawn Robinson talks about how he got involved with the church and how the Clayton Community Church has grown to what it is today.

In the first video of Clayton Patch's interview with pastor Shawn Robinson, the pastor talks about how he and his church got to where it is today.

Robinson is trying to get approval from the City Council to build a 42,000-square-foot four-building complex in downtown Clayton, which would include a church.

Although Robinson was a business major at the University of Southern California. it quickly became apparent to him that a life spent helping people would be more fulfilling than a life spent making money.

He was a youth pastor in Walnut Creek for eight years before starting the Clayton Community Church. He saw a need for a church in Clayton, so started a church 15 years ago and held services at the .

Services eventually moved to , where hundreds of people showed up for the first service. When asked why he thinks his church has grown as much as it has, Robinson said, "God did it."
