Concord residents are concerned that Detroit Avenue is
turning into a used car lot, while city employees ignore a blossoming
“I’m tired of hearing there’s nothing you can do,” said Roylen Stack, who lives on Pine Creek Way. “A lot of money was spent making Todos Santos look beautiful. What about the rest of Concord?” she asked during a public comment session at Tuesday’s City Council meeting.
Stack says people double park near cars that are placed on the road with “For Sale” signs. To exacerbate the situation, people emerge from their vehicles to jot down the sellers contact information while standing in the middle of the road. She says the cars sit there for days, creating an unsightly situation for residents in the area. She also said that most of the people who own the vehicles do not live in the area.
“You wanna sell your car? Put it in your driveway. You don’t have a driveway? Not my problem,” Stack said.
