How Concord Voted on Prop. 8: Have You Changed Your Mind on Same-Sex Marriage?
As the U.S. Supreme Court weighs the constitutionality of California's Prop 8, a new poll finds that 14 percent of the country has changed its mind on the topic. Did you?
It's been a long road since the 2008 election, and the country has been through some significant changes. Back then, Proposition 8 prohibiting same-sex marriage passed with 52 percent of the vote across California. Today, the U.S. Supreme Court is questioning the constitutionality of such a law.
Concordians voted against Prop 8 by 55 percent — reflecting the countywide result in support of same-sex marriage, but displaying more conservative views than nearby cities.
Would Concord vote the same way again? And if not, would there be more leniency toward marriage equality, or less?

A new poll from Pew Research suggests that 14 percent of Americans previously against same-sex marriage have changed their minds and now support marriage equality for LGBT couples.
