Fresh Express Recalls Bags of Spinach Due to Salmonella Risk

Select bags of 9 oz. Fresh Express Spinach have been recalled from several stores after a random sample tested positive for Salmonella. No illnesses have been reported.

A limited number of bags of spinach sold at stores across the country, possibly including several in Concord, has been recalled due to a possible salmonella risk, the FDA announced Thursday.

Fresh Express is voluntarily conducting this precautionary recall on its 9 oz. bags of spinach with a Use-by Date of Nov. 7 and product code S299B25.

The US Department of Agriculture’s random sample testing program found one positive result for salmonella in the spinach. However, no illnesses or consumer complaints have yet been reported to Fresh Express associated with this recall, and no other Fresh Express products have been included.
