Concord To Workshop City's Future

The city's new Downtown Specific Plan contains land use laws that will guide business development for the next 20 years.

The City of Concord invites residents to attend an open house on Monday that will explore how the downtown area could change in the next 30 years.

The city is creating a Downtown Specific Plan that contains land use laws to guide future business and community development near Todos Santos Plaza. It also contains forward thinking statements that project what local urban planners want to see in the community.

Tonight, the planners will present their vision for how the city could look in the future. The Downtown Specific Plan is in the final phase, which means the plan’s environmental impacts are being scrutinized. Those documents will be released for public review.

The workshop will take place from 6:30-8 p.m. at Salvio Pacheco Square, located at 2151 Salvio St., Suite 201, in Concord, CA.

RSVP to Senior Planner Joan Ryan by mailing joan.ryan@cityofconcord.og or (925) 671-3370.
