Concord Council to Appoint New Mayor Tuesday Evening

Significant restructuring to Concord's city council will take place tonight.

A new mayor and vice mayor will be announced, as will the chair and vice-chair of the city's Redevelopment Agency.

Presentations will be made by current Mayor Laura Hoffmeister and by the newly appointed mayor, whose one-year term will begin on Wednesday, Dec. 7.

Though the city does not confirm it, current vice mayor Ron Leone is expected to take over for Hoffmeister as the new mayor.
