Lineup for Clayton's 2012 Concerts in the Grove Series

Eleven bands to entertain in the City of Clayton's annual summer series, Concerts in the Grove, 2012.

The following is a schedule released by the City of Clayton:

All concerts will take place Saturdays, from 6 to 8:00 p.m.

Don't forget to also stop by the downtown Clayton farmers market, which also begins May 12.

May 12

R&B Classic Rock PLAN “B”: Celebrating the music of Creedence, Stones, Adele, Cake, Pearl Jam and TalkingHeads – this local band does it all.

PUSH: San Francisco news anchor Dan Ashley and PUSH sends audiences “back to the future”with their energetic live show and classic rock vibe. Whether performing great original songs or covering blast from the past, PUSH delivers!

May 26th

The Santana Tribute Band CARAVANSERAI: This Santana tribute band plays songs from their 30-year history, including the1969 hit of “Evil Ways” to “Smooth” & songs from their greatest CD’s like “Supernatural” & most recent release “All That I Am”. This band will satisfy Santana fans young and old. With instrumentation used by Santana, this band will get you on your feet and dancing!

June 9th

Rock-Alternative Party Band MAMALUKE: This is one of the Bay Area's premier Classic Rock dance bands covering music from the Rolling Stones to Tom Petty and ZZ Top. This band will keep you on your feet from the first downbeat to the last with their high-energy show. Most of the members of this band grew up in the shadow of Mt. Diablo.

June 23rd

Jazz Rhythm & Blues JACK POLLARD'S SWING SOIREE: With his silky baritone voice and impeccable vocal interpretations accompanied by French vocal artist, Isabelle Fontaine, and backed by his 9 piece precision band covering tunes from the 30's thru 80's, you are certainly in for a treat. Get ready for the best of Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Lou Rawls and James Brown.

July 7th

Songs of The USA LIVIN' IN THE USA - A CROSS-COUNTRY MUSIC TRIP: This fully themed and costumed "all hits" cover band will certainly "wow" you. Playing songs like Hotel California, Born in The USA orAmerica with impersonations of guest artist such as Elvis, ZZ Top, Neil Diamond, BruceSpringsteen, Jim Morrison and Sonny & Cher, you are in for an uplifting sing along dance concert.

July 21st

Tower of Power Tribute Band BUMP CITY - A Tribute to Tower of Power: Creating their own kind of "Urban Soul" for over 40years of great music, Bump City's 10-piece Tribute Band reproduces the original powerful crisp horn section, the blending of drums and acoustic guitars. The harmony and powerful vocals of this polished tribute band bringing you "higher and higher." Get ready to dance the night away.

August 4th

Oldies to Today's Top Hits DIAMOND DAVE: Singer "Diamond" Dave Hosley, a regular at Petar's in Lafayette, has been entertaining East Bay audiences for over 20 years with his amazing ability to cover the classics ofSinatra and Elvis, as well as the latest Hip Hop of Justin Timberlake and Flo Rida. Back by popular demand for his 5th Concert in The Grove, you won't want to miss this great entertainer.

August 18th

Classic Rock to New Pop ROLLING HEADS: Covering a huge variety of hits from the 70s to today, from Classic Rock to New Pop, every song is a party starter. Sit back and enjoy the brilliant musicianship or jump up and enjoy the energy that will be coming from the stage.

September 1st

Big Hit Tunes 20s, 30s, 40s & 50s LAURENT FOURGO AND HIS COMBO: Featuring big hit tunes from the 20s, 30s, 40s & 50s to include "Jump Swing," Dixieland and Jazz played and sung by the greatest performers and vocalists such as Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, to name a few. This 7-piece professional band featuring Laurent Fourgo as lead singer is polished and will take you back to memory lane, urging you to sing along and dance to the music we all love.

September 15

All The GreatestHits EAST BAY MUDD: East Bay Mudd is a dynamic, 9-piece cover dance band with a powerful4-piece horn section returning for their 4th year. The band has thrilled the Bay Area audiences for years with its upbeat and commanding take on classic soul, funk and R & B tunes. A great way to end our concert series and always a sellout.
