Concord Business Owner Operates Cafe Out of Downtown WC Library

It is operated by Cafe Pica Deli of Concord at the North Broadway location.

The downtown library quietly opened its new cafe Thursday.

Bob Brittain of Walnut Creek went on a five-mile hike Thursday morning and said the tropical iced tea at the library hit the spot.

The cafe is operated by Cafe Pica Deli of Gateway Boulevard.

The cafe has a separate entrance from the outside reportedly to accommodate customers during morning hours when the library is not open. Patch will update this story later in the day.

Beverages are OK to take out of the cafe into the library proper as long as they're in covered containers, library officials said. Patrons cannot take food into the library proper and eat it there.
