Woman Assaulted After Oktoberfest

Clayton Police are looking for several teens and young men that punched and kicked a 19-year-old carnival worker after Oktoberfest.

After thousands came to Clayton to enjoy this weekend, one of the most serious crimes the city as seen all year happened downtown.

A 19-year-old woman, who was working at Oktoberfest, was physically assaulted by eight to 10 young men at about 9 p.m. Sunday, Clayton Police Sgt. Richard McEachin said.

The attack happened at Oak and Main Streets near the entrance to the pedestrian tunnel that leads to the library.

The young woman was punched and kicked repeatedly. She lost consciousness, had a broken nose and a concussion and was treated at a hospital for her injuries.

A co-worker walked up during the attack, helping the woman up as the attackers ran toward Diablo Street.

The suspects were last seen heading toward the on Center Street. Two of the attackers fled in a black 90s model Audi. It is unknown whether the others left in a car or on foot, police said.

The suspects are described as Hispanic males between the ages of 17 and 19. They were accompanied by a white female between the ages of 17 and 19.
