Woman Arrested for Hit & Run in Antioch

by Bay City News

A woman was arrested on Thursday after allegedly stealing a car and broadsiding another vehicle as she tried to flee, sending its driver to the hospital, Antioch police said.

Around 7:25 a.m. Thursday, a man saw a woman drive off in his wife's car. He gave chase in his own car, following the driver toward downtown Antioch, according to police. Police said the woman refused to stop and as she attempted to flee, she ran a stop sign and plowed into another car.

The woman kept driving, but the car was too damaged and eventually stalled. Officers arrested the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Tammy Lechucia, on suspicion of auto theft and felony hit-and-run, according to police. Police said the driver of the other car involved in the crash was hospitalized for injuries that were not life-threatening. No other injuries were reported.
