ConFire: Smoke Alarm Saved Concord Resident and Dog

Fire personnel responded to residential fire on Olive Drive at 2 a.m. Saturday.

A Concord resident and her dog are alive thanks to smoke alarms that went off during an early Saturday morning fire, according to ConFire.

Fire personnel responded to the fire at 2 a.m. at Concord's Olive Drive, which caused $75,000 in damage to the home, according to the agency.

No injuries were reported and though a cause was not determine, a fire official said it "was most likely accidental."

County Fire Marshal Lewis Broschard urged everyone via social media to test smoke alarms monthly and to ensure protection by changing batteries every six months.
