Tree Workers Moved in, the Homeless Moved Out — the Angel Stayed
Workers cleared limbs and brush and authorities moved the homeless off of Lowe's property on Thursday.
A crew of about 10 tree workers moved into an area Thursday that had been used for months as a homeless encampment.
The workers, from Chandler's Complete Tree Care of Concord, trimmed limbs and cleared and chopped brush in an effort to reduce the opportunity to conceal camps. The workers went along the treeline that borders a vacant field owned by Lowe's home improvement store on Arnold Industrial Road.
It was a coordinated action with police enforcing the camp squatters had been given while the tree workers moved in. Social services agencies have dropped by this week to offer advice, transportation and other services.
