Around noon, a Sig-alert was issued.
A Sig-alert was briefly issued on eastbound state Highway 4 in Concord this afternoon for thick smoke in the area from a small brush fire, according to a California Highway Patrol officer and fire officials.
Drivers were advised to use caution at the eastbound Highway 4 connector to northbound state Highway 242 just after noon when a brush fire was reported on the right side of the highway, CHP Officer James Evans said.
An alert was issued at 12:16 p.m. and canceled by 12:23 p.m. when smoke had cleared, Evans said.

No injuries were reported.
The CHP had reported the fire was near buildings.
A salesman at Andy's Tee Shirts, located at 1960 Arnold Industrial Place, said the fire was "burning pretty good" across the street, next to the freeway along a strip of dry brush.
He said people moved their cars away from the blaze before fire crews arrived and doused the flames.
