UPDATED: Police Step Up Bike Patrols Downtown

Summer means more coverage, Concord lieutenant tells Todos Santos Business Association.

With school letting out, Concord police have reassigned officers and are providing more regular bike patrols of downtown.

Lt. Robin Heinemann said that starting Monday, Concord police should have a officer pedaling a bike around downtown Monday through Friday, most days until 9:30 p.m.

Heinemann made the announcement this week at a meeting of the Todos Santos Business Association, whose members voiced their support for the police presence.

“There will be a lot more friendly faces people can come to for … whatever,” he said.
