UPDATE: Pacheco Stabbing Victim Dies, Suspect in Custody

Bay City News Service—A suspect was taken into custody Thursday morning in connection with a fatal stabbing in Pacheco Wednesday night, Contra Costa County sheriff's officials said.

The suspect  is being held in jail on suspicion of homicide on $1 million bail, Lee said.

According to Lee, the victim and the suspect knew each other.

The man who was stabbed in the domestic dispute died from his injuries, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a report of a domestic confrontation at a home in the 200 block of Center Avenue at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, spokesman Jimmy Lee said.

Arriving officers found 46-year-old Richard Stratton in the driveway of the residence suffering stab wounds, Lee said. Stratton was taken to John Muir Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Lee said that a multi-agency search was launched for the stabbing suspect, whose identity has not been released. The victim and the suspect knew each other, Lee said.
