One Injured Sunday in Highway 242 Motorcycle Accident

Reckless motorcycle driving is likely the cause in single vehicle accident near Concord, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A motorcyclist on state Highway 242 near Concord was hospitalized with minor injuries late Mother's Day Sunday night after reckless driving caused a solo crash, a CHP dispatcher said.

The motorcyclist was traveling south on Highway 242 just south of Concord around 11:30 p.m. Sunday when he crashed along the right side of the roadway, according to the CHP.

CHP officers believe the man's reckless driving, which may have included doing tricks on his motorcycle, caused the crash.

The incident did not impact traffic, the dispatcher said.
