The California Highway Patrol and the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded this morning to a serious crash on Highway 4 in Concord.
At least one person was critically injured in the crash, which occurred at the Solano Way exit.
A vehicle drove off the freeway, according to the CHP. There is no word yet on what caused the crash.
The crash was reported at 11:59 p.m. The fire district asked commuters to avoid the area if possible.
There has been no word on road closures.
