New Molestation Charges Added to Case Against School Janitor

Astor pleads not guilty and now faces allegations from a total of five victims, according to the Contra Costa Times.

Ten additional counts were filed against a Mt. Diablo Unified School District custodian facing child molestation charges, according to the Contra Costa Times.

The counts include three additional alleged victims. However, a prosecutor declined to tell the paper Thursday whether the new victims attended local schools where John Astor, 44, worked.

Walnut Creek Police said in a Dec. 23 press release, just a day after the arrest was made, that two children associated with the initial charges were not students at any school where Astor worked.
