Hundreds of Students Wear Blue for Alliy

San Ramon Valley High sophomore Alliy Bayliss went missing Monday morning

When 15-year-old Allison "Alliy" Bayliss went missing Monday morning, the community wasted no time in trying to get her back.

Countless students showed up at school this morning wearing blue – Alliy's favorite color – as a show of support for their missing classmate.

"We don't want to lose one of the pack," said 16-year-old San Ramon Valley High junior Bella Ginocchio on her lunch break this afternoon. "We want her home."

Bella never met Alliy. She learned of the girl's disappearance on Facebook. Through classmates, Bella knew Alliy was on the swim team and that before her Monday morning disappearance she left behind a suicide note.

A Facebook page created for Alliy Monday afternoon already has more than 8,600 members, many of whom have posted supportive comments for the Danville teen, whose bicycle was found near Golden Gate Bridge early this morning.

Since the family reported Alliy's disappearance early Monday, the community has reached out to every local TV news station and newspaper in the region to familiarize the public with her face.

Closer to home, friends, family and others organized a candlelight vigil for Alliy at 7 p.m. Wednesday outside the Danville Congregational Church, 989 San Ramon Valley Blvd., where she went to youth group.

And hundreds of volunteers taped up fliers with Alliy's photo and description along Railroad Avenue and other streets surrounding San Ramon Valley High.

The school's principal, Joseph Ianora, made sure students had someone to talk to when they got to school this morning. Campus counselors spoke to students about Alliy's disappearance.

Ianora said his goal today is to protect his students and give them all the resources they need to deal with their classmate's disappearance.

"Everyone's talking about it in all the classes," said Emily Rose, 16, a San Ramon Valley High junior. "It's really sad."

BAY CITY NEWS: Alliy is described as white with blond hair, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 130 pounds. She was last seen wearing a red zippered hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately.
