Update: Elderly Woman Killed in Car Crash at Corner of Treat and San Miguel ID'ed

The victim was attempting to make a left turn onto Treat Boulevard.

UPDATE, 11:30 a.m.:  An elderly woman who was killed in a two-car crash in Concord on Saturday has been identified by the Contra Costa County coroner's office as 88-year-old Sarah Simmons.

Officers responded to a report of a crash at the intersection of Treat Boulevard and San Miguel Road at about 1:55 p.m., police said.

Simmons was driving a 2010 Honda Accord attempted to make
a left turn from southbound San Miguel Road onto eastbound Treat Boulevard,
according to police.

As Simmons was making the turn, a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup truck heading west on Treat Boulevard collided with the Honda, police said.

Simmons was transported to John Muir Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, police said.
