Update: Deputies Search For Inmate Escaped From Clayton

Contra Costa County sheriff's deputies are searching for an inmate who escaped from a detention facility early Monday morning, according to the sheriff's office.

The inmate reportedly escaped the Marsh Creek Detention Facility in Clayton at about 2:30 a.m., sheriff's officials said.
No shelter-in-place has been advised by the sheriff's office, but residents are instructed to maintain awareness of their surroundings at all times.

The inmate is described as a white man standing 6 feet tall, weighing 165 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes, according to the sheriff's office. Anyone who sees the inmate is asked to call the sheriff's office at (925) 646-2441.
