Concord's National Night Out To Take Place Aug. 6

The event encourages police and community partnership in the fight against crime.

Community members are invited to join Concord police for the annual National Night Out on Aug. 6 and celebrate "America's Night Out Against Crime."

The event takes place in Todos Santos Plaza from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and will include live music on the plaza stage from East Bay Mudd. There will also be bands playing throughout downtown Concord starting at 8 p.m. as part of National Night Out’s Take Back the Streets campaign, including:

  • DVC’s Rock, Rhythm & Blues Revue in the courtyard by Skipolini’s Pizza, Salvio Street at Concord Avenue;
  • Jet Black Pearl, a one-woman cabaret on Salvio Street near Ravioli’s;
  • and Timmer 2 Karaoke on the corner of Mt. Diablo and Salvio Street.

Participants will be able to stroll from band to band, and the music will continue until 9:30 p.m.

National Night Out, sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, is an opportunity for the Concord community to join forces with thousands of other communities across the country in promoting cooperative, police and community crime prevention efforts, according to the City of Concord. The evening will include SWAT and K9 demonstrations by Concord Police officers.
