Concord Police Seek Auto Thief Who Fled on Foot
Thursday incident had police searching houses in the St. George-Hillsborough Drive area.
Police are still searching for the auto thief who ditched a silver Ford Expedition and dashed off into the neighborhoods around St. George and Hillsborough drives between Highway 4 and Port Chicago Highway Thursday.
At about 11 a.m. Thursday, police closed off the streets in the area and searched houses in a four-block area, said Concord Police Sgt. Matthew Morrissey The SUV had been reported stolen earlier Thursday in Antioch.
On Thursday, police pursuit of the SUV reached speeds of 80 miles per hour. The suspect at one point tried to ram a police car, police said.

The suspect was described as a white male with a shaved head, about 25 years old.
